HDA OVERVIEW

HDA – Continuing to Support the UK HR Community
HDA, a human capital consultancy with 30 years expertise in career transition and talent management, is strongly committed to not only supporting our client organisations but also the UK HR community. HDA are building on the success of our Summer Sessions with 3 further Autumn HR Sessions; focused on the theme of employee engagement. A recent report commissioned by Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills highlighted the fact that ‘organisations that truly engage and inspire their employees produce world class levels of innovation, productivity and performance’. With CIPD (2009) estimating that only one third of all British workers are fully engaged at work; it is clear that strategies to measure and enhance employee engagement must be at the forefront of any talent strategy. The HDA Autumn Sessions will provide HR with a toolkit of practical skills and strategies to take back to the workplace to enable even greater engagement success now and in the future!
Recognising the constraints on time of HR Professionals, each session will run for an hour and a half; covering the following topics: The Power of Communication; and Employee Engagement – Strategies that really work! This series of sessions is offered on a complimentary basis to all of our clients.
Programme Sessions:
The Power of Effective Communication -
8th October 2009 - Sarah Lee
Engaging your staff with what the organisation is trying to achieve requires not only clear leadership and supportive management but also excellent communications in order to reestablish trust and elevate concerns over the future. Managers and HR must develop the skills required to communicate effectively with staff; ensuring, where possible, that staff are involved in the decisions that may affect them. This interactive session will focus on developing practical strategies for communicating more effectively with staff during times of change.
Engaging Your Employees…Strategies that Really Work!
12th November 2009 - Kate Turner
This short session will review what is currently happening in the market place and how this is impacting attraction; retention and engagement. We will provide insights into what successful organisations are doing to counteract this and how you can apply these strategies within your organisation. Potential areas of focus include – innovative training solutions on minimum budgets; building your coaching skills; effective decision-making; survivor syndrome; and promoting career ownership.
