Building Your Coaching Experience
6th August 2009
This workshop will provide HR with the tools and techniques required to facilitate discussion through the application of coaching principles. Participants will develop a greater understanding as to how to practically expand their coaching experience.
Some of the coaching techniques we will be exploring as part of this interactive and practical session include:
- helping managers to apply their strengths from one area to build skills in areas which they find more challenging;
- using the power of perspective to encourage greater empathy, improved problem solving and reduced conflict;
- spotting language patterns used by coachees and working with these to overcome resistance to change.
As part of this event, we will also be exploring the particular challenges faced by HR professionals in coaching within their organisations.
Developing Your Influencing Style…Ideas that Really Work!
20th August 2009
This highly informative and practical session, based on real life experiences and case-studies, seeks to provide the HR Professional with a toolkit of tips and ideas around developing their personal influencing style. For many HR staff their key stakeholders are likely to be business peopleand so this short session will enableparticipants to refine their approach to meet the demands of their stakeholders and the business in order to make an impact andfurther develop their career.
This session is NOT an academic exploration of Influencing Theory but it IS a look at different ideas, tips and real life examples of how to influence in different situations; some of which should be useful to you personally and in your work in HR. Some areas we will cover include:
- Positioning your service/product
- What makes a 'good influencer'?
- Improving customer service
- Choice of language
- Dealing with your stakeholders
Of these sessions Melissa Gallagher (Client Partner & Project Manager at HDA) says “HDA recognizes that today we are operating in an environment where taking ownership of your own career development is crucial to your success. However with large-scale redundancies and significant organsiational changes occurring, it has become harder than ever before for HR professionals to have the opportunity to focus on their own career development. As such we have developed a series of short summer sessions designed to meet the time constraints and career development needs of the UK HR community.”
