Programme Sessions:
Developing Your Influencing Style…Ideas that Really Work!
Dennis Preston - 25th February
This highly informative and practical session, based on real life experiences and case-studies, seeks to provide the HR Professional with a toolkit of tips and ideas around developing their personal influencing style. For many HR staff their key stakeholders are likely to be business people and so this short session will enable participants to refine their approach to meet the demands of their stakeholders and the business in order to make an impact and further develop their career.
This session is NOT an academic exploration of Influencing Theory but it IS a look at different ideas, tips and real life examples of how to influence in different situations; some of which should be useful to you personally and in your work in HR. Some areas we will cover include:
- Positioning your service/product
- What makes a 'good influencer'?
- Improving customer service
- Choice of language
- Dealing with your stakeholders
Building Your Coaching Experience
Kate Turner - 11th March
This workshop will provide HR with the tools and techniques required to facilitate discussion through the application of coaching principles. Participants will develop a greater understanding as to how to practically expand their coaching experience.
Some of the coaching techniques we will be exploring as part of this interactive and practical session include:
- helping managers to apply their strengths from one area to build skills in areas which they find more challenging;
- using the power of perspective to encourage greater empathy, improved problem solving and reduced conflict;
- spotting language patterns used by coachees and working with these to overcome resistance to change.
As part of this event, we will also be exploring the particular challenges faced by HR professionals in coaching within their organisations.
Developing an Effective Personal Brand for HR Business Partnership Success
Dawn Winder - 15th April
The HR business partnership concept by now holds a firmly established place in the world of commercially-focused HR delivery; but do HR professionals have the personal positioning capabilities to convince their businesses that they are true partners to the business.
This event will provide greater understanding on how to take a professional personal branding approach to credibly position individual business partners and business partnership teams. It will enable delegates to understand why they not only need to know their own business partnership personal brand attributes, but also to develop a way of communicating these assets in a style that enhances visibility and credibility within the organisation.
Leadership Development - What is required now to be an effective leader
Angie Martin - 20th May
