HDA In-House Workshops
The current economic climate dictates that it is now an employers market, however what will happen when the economic crisis we currently find ourselves in subsides?
Are you confident that your talented employees will remain with your organisation? Or do you believe you need to act now to ensure your talent is retained in the future?
HDA believes it is important to develop practical strategies for ensuring your key talent are engaged, motivated and ultimately committed to your organisation and its objectives, regardless of how green the grass may appear on the other side. With this in mind we have created a selection of workshops which focus on key areas that if managed effectively can play a role in building and sustaining a cohesive unit of committed employees now and into the future. See below for more details.
Effectively Handling Challenging Conversations
Change management, individual or team performance, restructuring and redundancy are all areas that require a professional approach, particularly when bad news is involved. Whether we choose to avoid these conversations or prepare well for them is a critical factor in determining effective workplace communications. HDA has developed a workshop, on how to effectively handle these challenging conversations, based on 30 years experience supporting organisations to effectively manage organisational transition and redundancy; ensuring business continuity and reputation.

Career Development in a Downturn
In the current climate, HR are finding it increasingly difficult to hold career development discussions with staff members; where they are now required to draw on alternative skills and tools to effectively facilitate and promote continuous career development. HDA has developed a workshop aimed at enabling HR staff to handle these conversations effectively, thereby providing beneficial guidance for their target audience at the transactional level, whilst at the same time contributing to the ongoing development of the HR team itself – in particular the development of their own coaching, self-awareness and skills.

Coping With Personal Change
Change is constant and today occurs quicker and more frequently than ever before. With this in mind the importance of harnessing the power of change to create opportunities for growth and development can not be ignored. In order to successfully navigate through the cycle of change individuals must be flexible and proactive in their approach. It is not enough to react to the change once it arrives – preparation is key! Recognising all of the above, HDA has developed a workshop, on how to effectively manage organisational transition, with specific focus on supporting individuals across organisations to cope with change and to manage it to their advantage; while also ensuring business continuity and reputation.

Incident Management Training
Government legislation and guidance together with guidance from the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) indicate that in the event of a major emergency or disaster; practical and emotional support should be provided for those affected by the event. If the emergency or disaster is related to a person’s work, then their employer should provide an appropriate level of care to ensure that those involved are managed well and those most at risk of developing psychological problems are identified and provided with help.
Recognising the above mentioned legislation and guidance, HDA has developed a workshop which seeks to train managers to provide an appropriate and effective response to the emotional and practical needs of staff involved in traumatic incidents.
