Why we work in this area
HDA has worked in this area for over ten years, with significant success supporting senior clients developing their careers internationally.
HDA has identified that many organisations have difficulty managing career expectations of their expatriates, both senior and high-potential during the full expatriate assignment process, with many assignments ending in a mismatch of company/individual interests. Very often, organisations are unable to accommodate returning expats, and/or returning expats do not find home-country returns compelling, and leave the organisation shortly following their return. This leads to significant key talent wastage.
We find that a systematic career development programme prior to and during the assignment leads to closer interest synergies between organisation and expats, both during their assignments and at the time of their return to the home country.
As a consequence, the HDA International Career Management Programme is designed for executives and professionals relocating abroad, developing their careers internationally and/or repatriating to the UK. The Programme has helped organisations maximise performance through the effective retention and development of key personnel.
