Bob Ferneyhough, Executive Director Human Resources, Henkel |
"Very pleased with contribution HDA have made to our recent site closure and redundancy programmes." |
"The ultimate measure of whether outplacement has worked or not is if people get jobs in a timely manner; this has certainly been the case with the closure of the UK office and I attribute a lot of this success to the way outplacement was managed. The program we devised with HDA was flexible enough to cope with individual needs and timely so that people got thinking about their future quickly enabling them to make clear decisions. The team at HDA have always been responsive, flexible and professional; it has been a pleasure working with them in this difficult time."
European HR Manager, Engineering Company
"HDA's consultants are of a high quality and the matching process with employees is working successfully. I have found HDA to be flexible and adaptable to meet the company's needs and above all, our employees feel supported through what can be a difficult and emotional process"

The challenges of redundancy and redeployment for large-scale outplacement and international outplacement
Providing career transition support for employees faced with redundancy and redeployment is a challenge for large companies, especially if the organisation spans several countries. At HDA Associates we have found that large-scale redundancy and restructuring is best served by career transition support that is easy to access. Our large-scale outplacement support serves both the individuals affected by redundancy and redeployment as well as the organisation. Multi-nationals undergoing reorganisation will need specialist international outplacement assistance to provide global career transition support.
Large-scale outplacement and career transition solutions
Organisations faced with large-scale outplacement and international outplacement requirements will want to support staff facing redundancy by providing good quality career transition advice in a cost effect manner. At HDA Associates, we have provided successful large-scale outplacement support which combines online career transition advice with both one-to-one and group support to individuals affected by redundancy and redeployment. Using online tools to provide staff affected by redundancy with access to job search materials is a very effective way to support employees with their career transition. Plus, as travel and costly on-site services are not required with this remote solution, organisations can save on expenditure. This remote solution is partnered with telephone-based support, which provides individual one-to-one support, albeit remotely. The result is a successful large-scale outplacement or international outplacement programme that provides a high level of care to every part of an organisation in a cost effective manner.
This combination of remote large-scale outplacement support is particularly effective for companies implementing redundancy initiatives at several locations. This large-scale outplacement support enables employees from different locations within an organisation to access career transition support without the need to travel.
Another strong advantage is that this type of large-scale outplacement support can be implemented swiftly. Of course, if an organisation requires extra support perhaps in the form of workshops then these can be incorporated as part of their large-scale outplacement programme.
Making the most of redeployment
Increasingly, businesses undergoing restructuring are recognising that redeployment of staff with transferable skills is preferable and less costly than redundancy and re-hiring. Yet it can be difficult to get employees to compete for position in new disciplines or at new levels as part of a redeployment programme. Redeployment can be especially challenging for larger multi-sites organisations where relocation can be an issue. However, large-scale outplacement or international outplacement consultancies, such as HDA Associates, will be able to help employees through this career transition and redeployment process. Getting highly skilled, well trained employees to participate in redeployment, rather than opting for redundancy, saves on restructuring costs and will improve staff morale.
Meeting the challenges of international outplacement
Redundancy and redeployment poses a different set of challenges for multi-national companies. Restructuring on a global basis will require large-scale and international outplacement support. Through international outplacement support an organisation can help those affected by redundancy and redeployment with their career transition in their chosen global location. International outplacement can also help to settle them if they are relocated.
At HDA Associates, we have over 30 years experience of providing international outplacement support to employees of all levels and disciplines. As part of our international outplacement programme, we provide a highly personalised service to employees going through career transition, even if it requires relocation. Through our network of international offices, our international outplacement programme provides local expertise to help secure new employment or self-employment opportunities – even off shore employment - for our clients.
Whether you are looking for career transition support as part of large-scale outplacement or international outplacement, at HDA Associates, we have the expertise to mitigate your restructuring challenge.
