ASPIRE © Leadership Development Programme
Why we work in this area
- As successful outcomes-focused business coaches and facilitators, HDA is often requested to develop curriculum-based leadership development programmes to support leadership development strategies and specified leadership development needs
- Whilst we operate as outcomes-focused coaches and facilitators, rather than as trainers in generic areas of leadership development, we recognize that curriculum-based development complements our offering, and meets the needs of our clients for blended development
- We have developed the world-class ASPIRE © Leadership Development Programme which addresses core areas of leadership development, key to modern organisations
- HDA believes that leadership development has to be set in the real and pragmatic world of business today. Which means that it needs to be timely, customer and results focused, tailored to meet individual need and cost effective.
Our competencies in this area
- Our team includes facilitators with significant leadership development experience and thought leadership in this area, from executive coaching expertise, to leadership education expertise, to blended learning expertise
- We have worked with a large number of organisations to develop their leaders, and with significant success
- Our blended approach to leadership development, including a mix of coaching, facilitation, training and self-development via project assignments, stretch opportunities and so on is recognized as the right formula for leadership development success
- Our individual competency-focused approach to leadership development is particularly well developed; shifting accountability for development from the developer, to the individual and the organisation
Our approach in this area
- As an outcomes-focused consultancy, we tend not to see ourselves as trainers in generic areas of leadership development, but rather as facilitators of bespoke leadership development solutions
- We work with organisations to determine key leadership development objectives and business imperatives, and flex our core leadership development modules around these core elements to ensure outputs directly in line with identified needs
- Our leadership development facilitators act as strong devils advocates, to ensure that the right outcomes are achieved for the individual, or the team, and the organisation
- We recognise that for busy managers taking time out for development can sometimes be seen as an unwelcome interruption and questionable in terms of value. The ASPIRE © Leadership Development Programme is designed to work with individual managers and organisations to create a solution which is flexible and adaptable to meet local need.
A little more on our approach here:
Core Elements
ASPIRE will help individuals improve their self-awareness and personal effectiveness to achieve business results.
It will use a wide range of activities to ensure that we create the best possible learning experiences, this will include:
- The opportunity to reflect on their progress as a manager/leader to date
- To receive personal feedback linked to their profile(s)
- To create their own development pathway
- To experience a range of development solutions including:
- Case study activities
- Real and relevant work based projects selected in consultation with their line manager/
- Opportunity to apply their knowledge in pairs, or small teams identifying best practice solutions to situational incidents.
- Specialist theory input related to key knowledge
- Learning and development programmes where appropriate
- Together with the opportunity to put what they have learned into practice on their return to the workplace.
- In addition 1-1 coaching and where appropriate the opportunity to attend Master Classes either internally, or externally.
- Finally when ready to take responsibility from specific parts of the business as part of a supported development path.
Rationale for the approach
The ASPIRE © Leadership Development Programme is designed to support managers as they move from their initial stages of becoming a manager into a more established role.
It will provide an opportunity to consider the following:
For the individual manager: How am I progressing? How successful am I being? What challenges am I facing? What challenges are other managers facing? What can I learn from them? What else do I need to learn?
For the team interacting with their manager: How are we working together? What support are we getting from our manager? How could we work more effectively together? How can we improve our overall performance?
For the business: Is this manager a potential future leader? How can we support him/ her to maximise their potential? What qualities are they demonstrating? Following this programme what is the next stage on their development path? From this cadre of managers what are we learning about the quality of our managers and our future senior management potential?
