Why we work in this area
- HDA has worked as coaches and facilitators for ten years, and has developed a strong reputation for its commercially and outcomes-focused approach to coaching business leaders and teams, with significant behavioural development successes achieved to date
- Increasingly, as the value of coaching is recognized by organisations, and as organisations are recognising that business leaders benefit greatly from the application of coaching principles to business problems and opportunities, organisations are asking HDA to deliver business coaching training for their leadership teams at all levels, from senior directors to first level line managers
- Training leaders to be effective coaches is a natural extension of the provision of one-to-one and group coaching
Our competencies in this area
- HDA’s team includes 40 highly experienced executive/business coaches who combine the right mix of commercial astuteness and coaching competency, achieved via a range of qualifications and experience. This experience and expertise is applied to the training of business leaders as business coaches

- HDA has developed an effective ‘Coaching Behaviours for Business Leaders’ programme aimed at business leaders in corporate organisations, senior line managers, executive managers, and operational Directors
Our approach in this area
- Our approach typically includes a blended combination of the following:
- a group-based outcomes-focused facilitated coaching skills development session
- The opportunity for follow up face-to-face or telephonic one-to-one meetings within an agreed individual programme component, focused on specific behavioural change outcomes and outstanding gaps – usually over 3 or 6 months
- Online 180 & 360 degree reviews of individual development progress as appropriate
- Core objectives of this approach include:
- To equip the target audience with the knowledge and practical skills to develop and deliver business-effective and individually tailored coaching solutions for the people in their team.
- To practice new behaviours in a safe environment
- Comprising core of 2-day workshop, (run on consecutive days or separated over time), plus pre and post preparation and follow up)
- At the end of the programme delegates will be able to:
- Recognise appropriate opportunities to use coaching and mentoring as the primary tools to improve business performance and culture
- Design and construct validated coaching sessions to meet knowledge, skills and / or attitudinal gaps
- Engage their coachees in recognising and owning performance gaps and their resolution
- Adapt their personal style in coaching delivery to be appropriate to the person they are coaching and the circumstances surrounding the coaching need
