The complexities of an organisational restructuring are compounded by structural rationalisation involving redundancies and redeployment, which impact both staff morale and motivation.
In addition to providing outplacement support to those leaving the organisation; providing support to staff and leaders before, during and after organisational changes take place will ensure that the organisation is well-placed to successfully tackle the complexities associated with a restructuring.
Providing support to staff and leaders before organisational changes take place
Providing team development support to leaders and HR professionals to create a better understanding of:
- How change impacts behaviour
- The barriers to change and how they can be overcome
- The role positive communication styles play in helping to manage change
- How to handle resistance to change
- How to effectively manage stress
- How to deal with challenging conversations and conflict
Leaders and HR professionals will play a key role in influencing the success of any changes and this will be determined by their understanding of how to effectively manage change to both sustain staff engagement levels while also maintaining business continuity.

Providing support to staff and leaders during organisational changes
Offering coaching/training to facilitate and support those in adjusting to the new environment, system and culture.
During times of change managers can fail to undertake the day-to-day management that is required; this combined with losing team members can create an environment where staff feel undervalued; overworked; disengaged and de-motivated. Staff may feel under enhanced levels of stress as a result of the changes in the operating environment and managers must ensure they are equipped with the skills required to communicate effectively with staff; ensuring, where possible, that staff are involved in the decisions that may affect them.
