OUR SERVICES
Talent mapping (senior, specialist skills, high-potential, graduate)
Why we work in this area
- Many of our corporate clients consult with HDA on their talent and future proofing strategies, and HDA takes a strong outcomes-focused approach to addressing the talent needs of client organisations
- Most often, organisations make a distinction within their talent strategies between senior, specialist, high potential, diversity and graduate talent, and there are usually internal programmes dedicated to these key constituencies within the organisation.
- HDA has significant experience assessing the capabilities and potential of senior organisational talent via assessment methods (psychometrics, 360 degree feedback, etc), assessment centres and development centres, and we have extended this individual assessment experience to working with organisations to map sensible talent pools within (and sometimes external to) organisations, by eg. key demographic and competency/skill and knowledge groupings.
- Validly identified talent pools are key to the future medium and long success of organisations – especially those which are growing or undergoing transformation, eg. mergers, downsizings, and so on
Our competencies in this area
- HDA’s team includes consultants with significant hands-on experience and expertise in this area
- We have significant experience as facilitators and coaches, posing challenging, devils advocate questions to organisations about inputs vs desired outcomes, and we apply this devils advocacy approach to this area
- We have access to and apply a broad range of organisational talent mapping tools which help us to identify the likely impact of a particular strategy on organisations we work with
Our approach in this area
- HDA takes a strongly outcomes-focused partnership approach in delivering consultancy in this area
- We find that client succession plans are often too rigid and static to ensure that talent pools are valid and meaningful to the business on an ongoing basis, and we work on a bespoke basis with our clients to ensure that their strategies in this area are both valid and fluid enough to support the business.
- HDA’s approach includes strong devil’s advocacy, to challenge organisational leadership to identify and develop the most sensible talent pools for the future of the organisation
- HDA’s consultancy in this area is supported by in-depth facilitation capability, tools and approaches
Who we work with in this area
- HDA has recently worked with organisations like European Diamonds, The Department for Transport and Universal Music, in this area. See more here.
